Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City (Arrival):
Welcome to Vietnam. Upon arrival you will be greeted by the tour guide & car driver at the airport. Later transfer to hotel and check in. Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city of Vietnam. It is the bustling economic capital and cultural trendsetter of the country, yet holds the timeless traditions of an ancient culture. Start your day with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, which documents the Vietnam War in graphic detail. The museum’s exhibits are both harrowing and thought-provoking, and they provide a valuable glimpse into one of the most destructive wars in history. Next visit the Reunification Palace formerly the Independence Palace of the South Vietnamese president. The palace was stormed by tanks on April 30, 1975, marking the end of the Vietnam War. Today, the palace has been preserved in its original state, and it’s a fascinating glimpse into a bygone era. End your day with a walk through the city center, where you’ll see some of Ho Chi Minh City’s most iconic landmarks, such as City Hall, the Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral (view from outside only), built between 1877 and 1883, and the colonial-styled Central Post Office. You’ll also visit Ben Thanh Market, a bustling marketplace where you can find souvenirs, handicrafts, and local delicacies. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – My Tho – Ho Chi Minh City:
After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Central District 1 and start the trip to Mekong Delta, upon arrival at My Tho wharf, the motorboat takes you on the Tien River to see the floating fish farm village, and the RACH MIEU bridge, a cable-stayed bridge spanning the Tien River linking the two provinces of Tien Giang (My Tho) and Ben Tre together, and four islands: Long, Lan, Qui, Phung. Stop by Con Lan to visit the local honey bee farm and taste the unique honey tea. The electric cart will escort you to the fruits garden where you can try out the fresh tropical fruits (seasonal) and listen to traditional Southern music. Experience the taste of the Mekong Delta when sitting on a rowing boat, weaving into the small canal, watching rows of water coconuts, and the simple landscape of the Mekong Delta. Return to the big boat, along the Tien River, the motorboat will take you to the province of Ben Tre, which is known as the “Vietnamese coconut island” to visit the specialty of Ben Tre’s coconut candy oven. After a short introduction video showing how the tunnels were constructed, you will have a chance to crawl into a short section of the tunnels to feel the oppressive narrowness and heat inside.
